Saliva: A Natural Gingivitis Treatment
Having a gingivitis is one of the struggles of most common people, it is an inflammation of the gums and being indicated by red, swollen and easy to bleed gums at its early age. More often these symptoms are being neglected at their early stage until pain and discomfort is already being experienced by the patient. And a need for a gingivitis treatment is necessary as to not progress into receding gums, persistent bleeding resulting periodontitis which is a more serious gum disease and eventually tooth loss at worse.
Accumulated plaque in the gum line is what causes gingivitis. Excessive accumulation of plaque produces acids and toxins that irritates the gums thus resulting to inflammation. Bacteria that is responsible for plaque are anaerobic, it means that it hides in non-oxygenated area. And saliva is the natural defense of the mouth against these anaerobic bacteria for it is rich in oxygen.
Having the dentist check the condition of your teeth and gums at least twice a year is one way of preventing periodontal or gum diseases such as gingivitis to occur. When gingivitis has already occur, the dentist can give you the proper and the right gingivitis treatment. And when combined with superior oral hygiene bleeding gums, gingivitis and receding gums can be completely avoided.
